CPACareerNet provides a better alternative to job seekers
ALACHUA, Fla. CPACareerNet is making it easier for recent accounting graduates and seasoned accounting professionals to find positions with dynamic independent accounting firms nationwide.
"Finding the right 'professional fit' can prove to be a difficult challenge for all graduating students. CPACareerNet is one tool that accounting students can use to identify and pursue positions beyond the scope of opportunities available within the national public accounting arena," Mark R. Peltz, assistant director for employer relations and research, University of Florida.
CPAs designed CPACareerNet's unique sets of tools…for CPAs. CPACareerNet addresses the ongoing requirements of the accounting industry for qualified college graduates, CPAs, managers and other accounting professionals.
Applicants are able to search available positions at no cost using industry specific criteria such as, position, practice area or type of certification(s) required. They may also search based on general criteria such as location and salary requirements. Also available are numerous resources to assist applicants in locating the right position. The entire site is designed to provide a one-stop location for all their job-hunting needs.
"With a 40 percent decline in the number of CPA examination candidates, local firms must act now to establish a national recruiting voice and presence through a focused, well-coordinated effort. Going to work for a Big 5 firm is not the only option for top people desiring careers in public accounting," said CPAmerica President Douglas H. Thompson, Jr., CPA, who created the CPACareerNet concept. "Many local CPA firms offer equally outstanding or better career opportunities. Unfortunately, no one is carrying their message to the marketplace."
CPACareerNet provides independent CPA firms with access to an extensive database of interns, college graduates, licensed CPAs, accounting executives and other accounting professionals looking for new employment opportunities.
The program allows subscribers to post available positions online and applicants to view those positions and apply electronically. When a subscribing firm places an employment position online, the firm may also include a short list of pre-qualifying questions that applicants must answer during the application process. Once the application is complete, the applicant's resume is attached, and the entire package e-mailed to that firm's designated contact.
In addition, firms gain national exposure through cooperation with other firms utilizing centralized recruiting support. By creating this network of CPA firms across the country, CPACareerNet broadens applicants' opportunities. Oftentimes, these independent firms are a better fit to students' and CPAs' aspirations. CPACareerNet provides all accounting professionals a way to get connected.
CPACareerNet is a subsidiary network sponsored by CPAmerica International, Inc. CPAmerica's record of launching new ventures is a result of 24 years of experience unleashing the power of cooperation among CPA firms. CPACareerNet is being offered to all qualifying firms in open market areas.
CPACareerNet offers a unique national career opportunity center.
